Broken Lives in a Psychiatric Institute (1980-1984))

Slideshow

The so-called Mental Institution, located near the Paseo Valldaura in Barcelona, was nothing more than a madhouse.

When I finally got permission to enter it with my camera I was expecting to find well cared for patients suffering mental alterations. Nothing could have been farther from the truth.

What I found amongst the crumbling walls were human being abandoned to their fate. Take a look at this video by JM Comelles that explain the story of this institution attachingh some of my photographs.

Also, I have posted another one in my channel of YouTube explaining (in Spanish) how the pictures were taken.

Some of these images appears in the first chapter of my book CurArte.
